Hi all!

I am really struggling with wheels for my landy!

Can anyone help? I have had loads of people say this will fit and then others say the same wheels will not.....

I have a lovely J reg 1991 Defender. Totally standard but has Rostyle wheels (16 in) What alloys or other steels will fit? I have m and s winter tyres and want some summer jobbies.

Any help will be appreciated!!

Cheers

Disco I steels or alloys, RR Classic alloys, obviously Defender alloys (up to but not including TD5) Wolf steels, standard steels.

As for tyres, are you sure they're winter tyres? as all season tyres could be marked M+S also, it doesn't mean they're winter tyres. Winter tyres will have a 'Snowflake' logo on them.

I like the Boost alloys on my TD5, they are fairly easy to clean as well aftyer a session in the mud. A set of those should fit but you'll need new nuts both to hold them on and if the missus finds out how much you spent on the new wheels and tyres...

Or PM "Pos", he's got a new set of wheels and tyres he'll sell you...

J reg I believe still has the older type drive flanges deep type. That means you need to fit spacers to the fronts to fit Range rover alloys and similar alloys. Some will fit but you would need to check first. Range rover wheels almost go on but you are beaten by about 4mm. Jai

Funnily enough I'd tried that first but, being new to landy ownership, I'm kinda confused about what will fit on without modification when the hubs stick out like mine do. Don't want to waste the £££s on something that doesn't fit. So I figured the best thing to do was ask for some advice from someone who knows what they're talking about...

Boris, you are correct.

I'd never run alloys on Defenders now as they are far too much effort. Standard steelies all the way, unless I can find some Wolf rims anyway :)
