Hi, iam on a campsite and at 9:50 tonight my alarm decided to start goinpg off. Not only bloody enbarsssing but i woke all the kids up including mine. I took out 2 10amp fuses in the underbonnet fusebox which stopped the h9rn and the akarm but now i cant start my car. I assume that i've also removed the immobiliser fuse. Any suggestions that wont make the alarm go off continually?

If u can disable it with the fob, start the car and everything works just the alarm goes after u leave the car and close it.....unplug the horns (and the BBUS if it's fitted).......and when u'll be back get it scanned.

So what model of disco is it?
Vehicle ultrasonic sensors can suffer false alarms from turbulence within the vehicle.
To check if your sensor is the problem 1. remove it, 2. mask it with sticky tape, 3. lock the vehicle with the key as that isolates the sensor.
If your vehicle is fitted with a electronic alarm sounder, it has it's own battery backup so pulling the plug won't stop the sound.

If its an ultrasonic or a movement detector , why would masking it off help?

By masking the send and receive areas of the detector the device will be non-operational.

Really I suspect that just masking the send area would work as the device is un-monitored unlike the ultrasonic devices use in intruder alarms that are monitored and if the don't receive the return signal will go into an alarm condition.
Ultrasonic detectors on it's own is still used but ar bit 'old hat' now as they are combined with passive infa-red detection duel function to combat false alarms.

Now, intruder alarm vibration devices...................:blabla: :blabla:
