help me find my suspension

ive got a 56 plate 90 and i want it kitted out.. im looking at new suspension next and im fairly new to the landy scene. ive looked at the usual 2" lift kits by pro comp and others but is that all i need to have my suspension twisting and turning mentaly, just need to know what i need i see the pics and can figure it out, help me specify what parts i need to get them 'X-ing and looking like theyre detached just want to get the best... any help is welcome thanks. will
 
What do ya want? plenty of kits out there if you got the money, can you do the work your self?
if so get yer longer springs.not sure of difference in springs.
Then chose yer shocks, think the real differece is the durability, cheaper is gonna obviously gonna be less durable.
Poly bush kit, although there is debate on polybushes, they are not that long lasting, rubber ones better:confused: who knows up to idividual i reckon and what you use it for.
Then you got, caster correction. you can do this with crappy bushes that have an offset hole in the middle, personally that looks like trouble, specially as they are an arse to change 1st time around.
Castor correction radius arms look like the better option,pricey if on a budget. Having said that i still got original arms and know others who done the same and they fine.
What else? er..cant think the drinkies is having the desired effect..lol..:D

I'm in the process of taking the 2"lift off mine and reducing it back to standard, I wanted the look/ stance/ articulation etc, but what i actually did was ruin the ride and handling =(. My advice is do it if you really need to and if you can afford the better kit as suggested previously.

Old Man Emu has been mentioned, but they don't do a lift kit as such, so you will need to think about other kit that you may fit to the LR so that you get the spring rates right.

Personally I would question the need for huge amounts of suspension flex. It can look good, but without the traction it is pretty useless......and remember the drooping wheel has less ground pressure then the compressed wheel, so traction is more readily lost.

I would suggest fitting a decent set of off road biased tyre and take it from there. Recovery points next as well as some decent recovery gear......then more onto suspension lifts.

I drove a Series on 750s with a roll cage and not other mods in RTVs for 5 years before moving onto my Discovery and then I green laned that for 2 years before modifing it. I am not trying to stop you doing what you want to your LR, but I would learn what you and the LR can do now before adding a load of kit to it and being disappointed with the end result.

Well said that man.

As said articulation is impressive to show off to your mates but I doubt it actually helps much due to their being bugger all traction. Suggest you join a club and have some fun. Likewise go out greenlaning in standard format. If you are getting stuck and others arnt look at their motors and see how their driving style is different to your own. When they say (yoiu NEED a 2 inch lift, big tyres, lifted springs, dislocation cones) Walk away and find some new 'friends'.

The best mod you could do as previously said is a decent set of tyres and rated recovery points. We are regularly called out to tow out and help those with all the gear. Most of the time a standard motor on good tyres would have been quite able if driven in the correct manner to get through what these people have got stuck in.
