Help i cant get my V8 to start

Hi i have just put a V8 into my 90 it was out of a v8 90 and has come with a pair of SU's i had it running at first but it would cut out after about 3 mins or if i reved it up it would stall as if it was over fueling, i have now replaced the coil,plugs and disy cap all leads are in the right place i get a good spark at the plugs but i just cant get it to start now i have looked at the plugs and they seem dry any ideas as i am pulling my hair out with this now.:doh: How do i set the timing as the car is just turning over and not even trying to start i have now cleaned the carbs but this hasnt made any difference,

you getting fuel thro,pull the fuel line of and check wi ya lighter ,its ok i seen del boy do it on telly.

have you checked the float levels,might not be gettin enough fuel.

How do you check the float levels?

take the floats out of the float chambers,make sure the floats looklevel,ie the floats are not pointing to one side or the other??,if they do not look level there should be a piece of metal to bend to adjust them,this is not a good explanation i know but just take a look and you will see what i mean.
