Never removed one from a Freelander but quite a few from Rovers. Personally I would get hold of a manual from Haynes as they give a pretty good step by step guide, £19 well spent or less off ebay.

Or download the Rave for free

Personally I prefer to have the book in front of me to refer back to, probably an age thing, I also buy a new manual for any car I buy wether new or secondhand. After 50 odd years as a mechanic I still like to know how things work. Looking at a laptop or printouts never seem the same as the manual.

Yu can, of course, print out any relevant section to have in front if you, get covered in oil/grease and then dispose of after

With my printer it works out cheaper to buy the manual also printouts don't feel the same as the manual when you read them in bed at night (see told you I was old)

the easiest way is out the bottom drop sub frame ,then engine and box together ,worth hiring engine crane if you have no lifting options
