Been out for a great day playing in the snow today. Left landrover whilst eating lunch and came back to a heater that does not blow air into vents anymore.

Air is warm but flow rubbish. I can hear fan turning and gets faster as you would expect when slide to the 2 position.

Temperature lever works

No change in airflow when I move the lever on the right between windscreen or feet position.

? Something frozen. ? Cable snapped. Worked fine until lunchtime today! Was parked in an icy cold wind with snow blowing onto front near side if bonnet and windscreen.

Any ideas

Cheers

Well I suppose opening the bonnet and looking at where the cable joins the box will give you an idea. If its not that remember the end panel at drivers side of dashboard is where the outer cable is secured and if that comes loose you will move the whole cable and not the inner, result being no change in air direction. Could be snapped or the cable is moving in the lever where it joins the box?

The most common problem with the controls (apart from mis-adjustment of course) is that the inner core siezes in the outer sheath so that when you move the leaver you are moving both parts together. Releasing the levers and having a look is the easiest way to establish the fault, might take 2-minutes!
Release the inner, apply a little lubricant & adjust.

Thanks for the advice. I will check all of this. I know the temp control cable is found at top of the heater box. Where does cable go from the vent position lever?

Richie box and baggyjim you are absolutely right
Checked it this morning and there was a thin layer of ice covering the air intake on nearside. Prized it off and all works perfectly!!!!

Oh well, lesson learned!

Thanks for help guys
