Hi, I’ve just bought a second hand warrantied steering wheel for my 2012 LR 4 , because the wheel switch wasn’t working for radio, and this wheel complete with switches was good value compared to a single switch. That’s the long back story! I now find the wheel I’ve bought is heated, my question is can I just plug and play to my vehicle which didn’t have a heated wheel from factory? Any advise I’m grateful for. Cheers

It was quite a popular mod on the D3 forum, when I had mine. I don't think it's that difficult to retrofit, but you'll need to add wiring to make it work.

If it was an option and I would think it would for the superior D4 there shouldn’t be a problem, but the question is from the OP is “is can I just plug and play”.
So in your wisdom what additional wiring is needed to make “it work” ? I’m sure the OP would be interested.

It's not something I've been privileged to mess with. When I had my D3, a D4 heated wheel was silly money.

I read about others doing it, on the above forum link. ;)

Hi, thanks for responses. Link very useful, hadn’t found that before either. Seems the jury’s a little split, I’ll give it a go at the weekend, I’ll just put heated wheel on connect new wheel to clock spring and see. Noticed Fuse for heated wheel is No 20 on passenger side board. Will post back! :(

Hi, well having asked the question is a heated wheel just plug and play? The answer in my case is YES! Took me all of 30 minutes, and most of that was waiting for battery disconnect, before air bag removal. Red wire on steering wheel connected to rotary coupling, + 2 x original connectors reconnected. Wheel tighten up, job done....Happy Person. Thanks again for inputs guys.
