Hi Guys

I'm a newbie, but hoping you can give me some advice. I'm also not in the least technical! I have a 56 plate 3 door Freelander td4 and have had a problem with the rear wiper not switching off. I can switch the engine off, take out the key, lock up and still the wiper continues. The only way to stop it is to take out the fuse. A local garage looked at it and couldn't help, but when |I collected it, the rear screen heater no longer worked, nor did the rise/fall of the rear screen when opening the tailgate. Also, when I lock it up, I get the short blast on the horn telling me that there is an open door. Any suggestions, anybody???

How long have you owned this motor? Do you know of its history with the previous owner?

I any case, here's what you do. Around 3 am park it away from any over head electrics and disconnect the battery. Using an EMF tri-field meter scan the motors interior, paying specific attention to the wiper area. Look for fluctuations in the magnetic field as shown on the meter. A spike can indicate the presence of a spirit. Perhaps the previous owner died of exasperation over owning such a vehicle and is damned to haunt it for eternity.

Smudge the vehicle with sage or have a local clergyman say a prayer over it and tell the spirit to go towards the light.

The wiper may not be going to the park position, usually caused by a seized cam in the motor.
The CCU will not be getting a signal from the park position microswitch, so the relay is still energised.
