Long time with out a Rangerover. I have been offered a p38a 2.5 hse BUT with probs. I know p38 with probs tale me something new lol. But still, The bloke who is saleing says this wife has washed the key with this overalls and needs a code (EKA) which he as not got. Also the head gasket has been done but the temp keeps popping in and out of the red. But the good news had new air bags so not all bad. I sopous what i am asking is do i run for the hills or is it worth playing with and what will i need to get to get the key fob working again? He is looking to swop his car for my BMW 520i se
Big HI to Dogsboddy hows it hangging mate long time.:amen:

EKA code is obtainable from a main dealer once you have the logbook. A new key is about £170 ish if it has been ruined by washing. Engine temp stuff I have no idea about. :)

Oh God - here we go again !!!

Are you going to keep this one longer than a MONTH or are you going to swap it for a Trabant convertible or something?

Tell the seller to get the EKA code and then get the key working and you MIGHT be interested. I'll bet that he comes up with reasons/excuses why he can't.

Yeah i know but he has said that the head has been done hummm. Thanks mate
The gasket may have been done, but if it's the head it will be a replacement job. It only needs a couple of overheats to crack the head. with the key and a possible head, you are looking at the best part of a grand to get it on the road if you do all the work yourself, a bit less with a secondhand head.

Thanks mate i think i will be walking away. But any way hows things with you mate

Apart from the usual niggles with the p38, all is well thanks. It's just done 1200Km with just a couple of problems, MOT on Friday, and off to the UK in it if it passes in a couple of weeks.

Far shout mate fingers crossed all the best and thank
