Gents,
On two recent posts, there's been comments about gems tps being rare as rocking horse poop.
I'm off to the states on Sunday for a week and I've seen a couple of sites saying they're in stock.
If anyone wants one then I'm happy buy them if they really do have stock and post them on when I get back.
They are 185 dollars plus any postage cost to where I will be working.
I can make no promises but if you say "yes" I will buy one for you and you can pay me if I'm successful in finding them.
Cheers

Hi wazz I will say yes to an airtex 5s5313 if you can get one. I can forward you the money via PayPal. That's a very generous offer. Just be careful of the many sites sites that suggest they have stock but order them from a supplier( who will have them on back order!

Thanks johnnyb. When I get there next week, I'm going to phone a few of these suppliers up to make absolutely sure they have them.
If they do, I'll pick some up and let you know when I get back.

GEMS uses the sensor to provide 0-5V input to the ECU. As long as the resistance is close, and the 3-pin connector fits, then most TPS should work.
Only other thing to do is reset ecu trims after changing the sensor, which also causes GEMS to re-learn the idle position.

That's a Thor sensor. It may or may not work but I feel it's better to use the original sensor err4278. It's not that you couldnt hash up a makeshift and it may work but it would be difficult to have long term confidence in it's reliability. It's difficult enough to keep these running with the right spares tbh. These sensors are made in the us I think. But Lucas went bust in 2000 and there sensors are still available. If I want head gasket I have a choice of three. Cams 8-10 different ones specific to the gems. Tps....hens teeth!

The biggest two issues with making a different part fit are the shaft shape and the connector I guess. It's only a potential divider at the end of the day so electrically it's simple.
Anyway, let's see what's in stock in USA and if they've got them then great.
