It might just be the seal which goes behind the securing nut on the output flange (In the splines) I think a better way to stop the oil leaking out of here is to use gasket sealer on the joint between the propshaft and the output flange. If this is the problem then your brake shoes are probably soaked in oil.

make sure the drain hole is clear anorl (at front of h/brake back plate underneath - is angled up and back - about 3mm dia).

h/brake likely to be soaked in oil - strip the lot, decrud, wash in petrol, re grease adjuster and reassemble.

while your on the subject.....anyone know the best way to get the handbrake drum off?? last time i tried i couldnt get it to budge......

I know what you mean - You can only put so much force on by levering against the backplate. If it's really stuck you could undo the flange securing nut (after draining the oil) and take the drum off complete with the flange, then you can get a direct hit on it.

dont forget to wind the tranny brake adjuster all the way in if your having trouble getting the drum off
