Fuel Filter location

I need to change the fuel filter on a 03 plate td4, got the new one from landrover (same price as factors) they matched the filter to car reg and supplied the long silver filter 9" long by 2" approx, then the fun starts, ok me thinks, take the rear right wheel lining off and bingo, no filter? ok rings local independant who after a few thoughts says that the filter will be on the top of fuel tank and you have to drop it. So what to do, is he right and how big a job if not where the F--- is it, all idears welcome

Have yoo looked in engin bay.. rite wing cumpartmunt?

thanks for link, now i have had a close look i can see the elusive filter, still wonder if there is an easier way og getting it out?
