Firstly happy new year, OK question!
Discovery 1 1998 3.9 v8i fuel filter, I cannot undo the bloody nuts holding this on, any advice about freeing them? I've tried penetrative oil and nothing so any ideas gratefully received.
2 can I cut the dam thing out and put an in line fuel filter in its place? By using fuel pipe jubilee clipp3d to existing fuel pipe if I cut the old filter out?
Many thanks guys
Keep it right side up

So i assume your not talking about simple nut/bolt bracket
holding the filter to the chassis.
So, the two fuel pipe glands and the corrosion between them and the alloy filter, corrosion a known issue, even with the early RR, the bottom line is cut the hose either side and install replacement length of pipe and glands + clips as necessary.
Going back in my RR days there was a kit advertised in the LR mags it was not a Land Rover part product.

When I replace my discos filter it was difficult, open spanner was distorting the gland so I purchased a gland spanner which worked and the both glands undid + lashings of WD40 used.

My disco had around 30K miles on the clock, when the original was off I cut it open and surprise to see it was like new, I wont be changing it again and the used once gland spanner will remain in the tool box.

I don’t see the fuel filter so the service schedule my RRs filter was never changed and when sold it has a 110k miles the clock.
So if nothings wrong don’t fix it 🙂
