Hi all,

After taking of my front left shock absorber. I noticed that the flange washers that go through the mounting on the axel had cracked off. The shock has obviously been rotating in this and caused this damage:

Basically how do I fix the axel? And do I need a new shock? Really frustrating if I do because the shock itself is working perfectly!

Thanks,
Jonathan.

cut out enough metal to weld a fresh piece in with suitable sized hole drilled in or buy a new bracket and weld that to axle,
you need another shocker too

Right ok, Thanks! Where could I get a whole new bracket. Is it worth replacing the shocks on both sides? They quite new old man emu's that the PO put on.

You might b able to build it up with weld over several passes, grind it flat and drill it to get the hole round again. The bushes must have been in a bad way! When I did mine the shafts on the end of the shock absorbers were badly necked, but they hadn't worn the axle brackets away like that.

Nice heavy duty steering rods.
