Hi, have a problem with opening and closing the window. It opens in small steps stopping each time, same on the way up. have tried the reset as per the handbook to no avail. The car is 2008 TD4

Regards

Disconnect the battery for 2 minutes and then reconnect and reset the windows

If that doesn't work you'll need to get fault codes read and proper diagnosis carried out

Hi, I have a 2009 TD4 XS. I have the same problem with the drivers window. The other windows are working OK.I have tried recalibrating the window and disconnecting the battery with no effect. Today I tried to swap the passenger side control unit with the drivers side unit but they are different so that's out. If any one out there has any bright ideas I am all ears.

Window stalling is often down to the window being stiff in it's runners. The window controller is designed to shut the window down, if something is trapped. If the window is stiff, the controller thinks something is trapped and stops the window. Try lifting the glass when it's moving up. If it continues to move, while you are helping, that's the problem.

Hello, I appreciate this is an older thread but it’s rare to find this specific issue that I have too on the same model car. Did you manage to find the cause of the window randomly stopping as it goes up or down?

Mine sometimes works perfectly which rules out the regulator, in my mind.

Thank you.

Hi
My issue was similiar. I used some Silicone spray on the outside window rubbers, left it for a minute or so, and issues fixed.
Cheers

If the window goes up then goes back down then it is tight window rubbers . However if it goes up and stops in small movements the hall sender within the motor is at fault you will need to replace window motor
