Freelander 2 breathing question

Hey All. Question about Freelander 07 td4. Under the hood white coloured smoke comes out from the filter marked 1 in the photo. Should this be connected into rebreather circuit marked 2?

Looks like someone has just sealed 2 off with a pull off end cap?

4th Land Rover but not seen this before...

Yes. Probably causing a positive crankcase pressure which will increase oil leaks.

So sorting out pcv valve / filter looks like way to go first then... OK thanks.

Who does daft things like a filter on the crankcase breather. Plumb it back into the intake trunking, so all those nasty smelly pollutants are burnt off in the engine.

Or leak out of the intercooler.
