Hi guys needing some opinions please. Have a flashing B with a diagonal line thru it next to the mileometer. Can't lock it remotely, no indicators rear washer or interior locking, unless I switch the lights on to dipped and everything works fine. If the lights are on I can lock remotely but as soon as they are off nothing. Any info would be much appreciated.
Many thanks

Grant

Thanks for the replies. I've just came home to find everything now working, no flashing B alarm setting, central locking working on remote, only issue now is the odometer now flashing. I've checked the fusebox under steering column and seems dry although I haven't removed it. Removed glovebox and again it all seems dry. Its been mentioned that a relay could be at fault, I've checked all fuses none blown. Should I still remove the fusebox and BCU and check.

Thanks Grant

this thing used to be intermittent and with completely unexpected behaviour, it's not a relay, it's or the fusebox or the BCU but if no signs of corrosion on the fusebox it's probably the BCU which can fail without visible signs as well... be prepared cos you can end up immobilised

if you remove the fusebox/IDM or BCU after you plug it back put ignition on pos II and leeve it so 5 minutes before you do anything else and off course dont unplug/plug them with battery connected(disconnect neg. lead before you work on them)

Thanks for that Sierrafery, reply much appreciated.
If it does immobilise is that me goosed or will the EKA code sort it ? I've got a 600 mile trip next week and need the Disco !!!

unfortunately if it gets immobilised by BCU or IDM fault the EKA might be useless, EKA is for the cases when it's immobilised in normal operating conditions not due to some electronic failure... you better fix for good it untill then if you want to be on the safe side

EDIT: discool was faster :) ... at least it's confirmed;)

Thanks again for the input.
If it did immobilise, and hopefully it doesn't can it be reset or does this mean replacing the BCU and or fusebox ?

it depends on the fault but it's possible to not be able to remobilise it without changing the faulty one... it's completely unforseeable
