This is to thank everyone on the Forum for their kind information in trying to solve the limp mode problem on the Td4. This was back in 6/7th Jan. I tried all the less expensive routes - senders, repair looms etc. Put the the Lynx on another Td4 to compare turbo & HP pump pressures and, although the values weren't that far out, decided to bite the bullet and fit these components. The turbo was fun-especially as I'd just fitted the IRD a month ago! (Freelander people will know what I mean!) Test drive made the eng management light come on immediately. This I think was the extra boost causing the HP side to give up without a normal test drive. Replaced the HP pump next and now have a Freelander driving as it should - no snide comments welcome! At 170k miles this was to be expected, I'm now thinking the injectors will be next.?
Once again many thanks to all that took the time to offer advice. Also get a reading from the diagnostix when this fault flags up and compare - it'll be worth it, just ensure you're not reading from someones Td4 that's also cattled but hasn't provided the fault.....yet?
