Fan ??

Hi just bought my 1994 200tdi I found the fan was in the boot should I fit it or will it be fine without it ?

Most discos will run fine without it, they have a very good cooling system. Many people keep it in the back for the exceptionaly hot day or for towing. You can refit, the only benifit of not having it is a very slight increase in power and it stops mud being thrown everywhere when off roading!

I gotta '94 200tdi, fan's bin collecting dust and **** in the boot for at least 3 year.

It's worth carrying it with you when possible in case you need to do heavy towing or do get an overheating problem or go offroading on Salisbury plain.

Or get an electric one, thats what im doing as the mounting broke for my fan... Im using one of my AC fans on a switch...

Took mine off a few months ago seems fine, the only time it got hot was when i was greenlaning in low range so it was revving quite high just stopped for a few minutes then put it back in normal range and was fine.

thats what fans for ,traffic lights ,hot days ,slow moving traffic etc

Does anyone have a pic of an electric fan setup, as i looked at this a while back, but never got round to doing anything

my 200 tdi has aircon im thinking of getting shot of the viscous fan and rewiring the leccy fans to a manual switch.
