Hi,just got off the phone with insurance who had requested proof of alarm system on my P38.I went on the THATCHAM website thatcham.org - The Motor Insurance Repair Research Centre thatcham.org click on general,then security,then catagories where you'll find a pdf link.look for your vehicle and it shows you what cat your alarm is,mine gives a TC1 for the june 95 to mar 02,I've printed this out and marked the specific model and my insurance say this is good enough but to make double sure,I went onto MY VEHICLE on Thatchams and got the security star rating printed off as well,it gives a 5star for theft of and a 4star for theft from.Hope that helps a few of ye.

I had the same questions when I insured my P38 the first time here in belgium.
what i did was photocopy the pages relating to it from the owners handbook and fax them to them - that seemed to do the trick
PC A additional alarm was fitted too but the initial exp of the OEM alarm seemed to passify them
