Hello everyone,
good to be on your site I hope your a friendly bunch :). Anyway down to brass tacks I see that the early l322 RR's aren't very reliable is the 2005-on face lift one any better?

Yep 2006 onwards are seen to be a lot better
They ironed out alot of faults by then and you also get the option of the lovely TDV8 engine :p

Thats next on my list ;)

The early ones ain't that bad, nothing a competent owner can't solve ;)
Part of the fun of owning them is fixing them lol

Think regardless of age it's important to leave yourself a slush fund for when a warning light appears. Great fun though and there are lots of knowledgeable people around on here to help. I'd probably just go for buy the best you can afford but don't forget the 'rainy day' fund

Good advice.

I'd be looking at petrol power 2005 onwards, anything to note between 4.2 s/c and 4.4?

Unless you really need the supercharger performance go for the normally aspirated car. Much kinder to its gearbox and less to go wrong. The bearings in the 'charger can go kaput at 50Kish miles - £2K.

I understand theirs a 4.4 BMW and 4.4 Jaguar unit is this correct and when was the change over period?

I think they went over to Jag power in 2006 replacing the BMW 4.4, the 4.2 is the supercharged engine, the 4.4 normally aspirated. The Jag engines are a big improvement, better torque, power, refinement and mpg.
