I have a facelift 2006 (56)
Td6 3 ltr.
I have had a couple of issues but nothing that hasn't been resolved by making a few calls and research on here!
I have driven the new Tdv8 and it is smoother( more gears in gearbox) more powerfull.
And it has a better set up for of road use!

However they are still fetching silly money!
If you wait untill Xmas you will be able to buy the tdv8 at a reasonable price because the new shape range rover( model 4) is for sale,
The old shape l322 will then be a good buy!

Yours should be the tdv6 not the td6 I think

Facelift had the new engines.

Yes I'm saving up for a tdv8

But will wait for at least a 2009 onwards otherwise it's not worth changing as visually hardly anything is different. Lol

I already have some 2010 parts fitted to mine like the rear lights so it would be like going back on myself lol

Why?
Do you own an oil company?

Sadly not no, however I have heard the gearboxes are better on the petrol ones and I don't do many miles 50-60 a week on average. I already run a petrol S-class Mercedes so I know what to expect fuel cost wise. Buy the way are any body panels aluminum or is the body Galvanized?. One final thing are there any good indy garages in the Cambridgeshire area? Many thanks In advance.

What about reliability?

They seem to be more reliable after 2006

But either way all range rovers will cost you an arm and a leg

Even when something goes wrong, and it will ! It will cost to fix

All cars have there own problems, just range rovers have a lot of there own niggles lol

I'm not aware of any common issues, but Datatek said earlier there are some. There were issues with the AJV8 when it first came out (Nikasil bore linings and plastic cam-chain tensioners) but all those were fixed long before the engine turned up in a Range Rover. I've personally put over 300K miles on Jag AJV8s - never had a single issue, best engines I've ever experienced in any car. Be interesting to find out if there are any issues with the Range Rover spec AJV8.
