Essex lanes

Well we've had a big clear out and tidy up so mines now parked up ready for some more mods

Looking good, but how long will it stay that way. I'm sure you've got your eye on something to fill it up with.

Well it seems getting rid of my Land Rover hasen't rid me of a coolant leaking problem.



Expansion tank located are far forward and out of reach as possible.



Nice job at 7 this morning, poxy truck.

Not LR related but I'm bored.

Started on stripping the truck down this afternoon ready for the next few mods, and to fix a leak:






Inside of disc is covered in oil, as are the pads and trackrod. Mikes given me a clue to potential causes so ill strip it down and see if they bear fruit!

That will be a missing stub axle gasket then.

Thought i'd post a link of my latest little project of boredom in my spare time lol. Its a 100w led roof light thought id link it here as i know a few of ya don't really stray from the Essex lanes thread...

This was the prototype gonna make one more for the front and one for the back.... just looks weird with one on the front! even tho one was 10x brighter than my full beams and existing roof lights put together lol.

Pair of early Discovery II tinted headlights with no chips or cracks, fits 300tdi. £50 the pair

Custom made one off heavy duty lightbar. Was made for my Disco and comes with 5 spot lamps same as Miley had on his. With correct bulbs run 100w per lamp.
I promise you will rip your roof off before you break this light bar. Easily 3x as think as the bars on EBay. £175 with all 5 Bosch lamps



Probably find more bits as I dig through the barn but that's a start.

Stripped my leaky hub down today using the exploded diagrams, and laid it all out in order and tidily (very unlike me LOL)





and found the probable cause:






Brand new but been in there a while without use. New Adjustable Panard Rod arrived:






And Brian popped over to play:








So ordered new seals and will rebuild later in the week, along with some other goodies on order

So someones bought a ViN plate and decided to make their 1996 RR a 1971, must admit I didnt realise they made the RRC up to 1996, thought that would have been a P38....

Thanks for the workspace today dan.

Didn't get as much done as I planned but now has a new drivers side swivel and front brake pads.

Jobs still to do (mechanical)

Change front diff oil.
Change transfer box oil.
Change engine oil and filter.
New fuel filter.
New air filter.
Change rear doughnut.
Change rear wiper
Change spare wheel holder.
Check boot speaker and amp.
Change front wiper motor.
Change gearbox.
Fix oil leak.

Then it's just boot floor and front arches to have fixed and it will be all good.

Not all that big considering how bright it is......

battery wouldn't be a big as you think would have to be mounted on a belt but a lithium ion about the size of half a brick would last a good hour on full power....
