I have the 4-cylinder. And love it, purrs like a cat, just a bit more robust:) but is drinking all. Just back from a 5000 mls trip to Erbil, Iraq with no probs whatsoever.

Sure "Busterbus" could tell me, but he is bussy to put up here the best manual for LR, I've seen. So my simple question is what must be in my toolbox. Have bought another 200 to dismantle, keep the parts for when needed. Learning by doing this way is a good exercise.

So here is my problem: many years ago I was taking my VW T2 bus and my Citroen 2CV almost blind into parts. This was the time I could go into any DIY market buying a socket wrench box like e.g. the proxxon. They don't sell good boxes anymore and as it is with CheapChineToolBoxes, they brake when you need them. Where can I get such box, exactly fit for a Disco 200 tdi with the 4-cylinder, in-line engine?

Well I'm in France, they don't have it too much with inch...:( But I'm often enough in the UK to get things there for reasonable prices.

If your out in France you could find your local Facom dealer there good solid yools maybe more expensive but they have a lifetime warranty

Facom from me I love there stuff but it is very pricey but the quality reflects this.

I have friends in France that are always on the look out for bargain/rare Facom bits.

Althou just have a look on ebay set your budget and buy under that as there will always be that tool that dosn't come as part of that kit.

KS tools could be an option, I believe they are a branch off from Facom.

Silverline do some nice good value spanners, and Bergen ratchets arn't badly priced.

Teng Tools have dealers across France and should be no more expensive than anywhere else plus the tool box set up that Teng offer should have most of the tools you should need.

Go to BricoDepot and buy their socket sets. If possible get their "6 pans" set - 6 sided sockets - they'll do you fine.

Alternatively if strength is your guiding parameter, get a set of hammer tool sockets. These are always six-sided, very strong and don't slip.

Bahco are another excellent quality make and available across France.

Bon courage et à bientôt

Dear All,
Thank you very much all for your comments :tea:! Have had too much "normal" work, that's why the delay of this response. I didn't know about Facom. Luckily next week I'll need to go Germany to have my little "boy and girl Rotties" certified by the breeder judge directly in the small town of Rottweil (is a problem for these dogs here in France) and then I will get the tools needed to take finally care for the Disco myself. Busterbus is also always such great help. Its a nice place to be here. And don't forget to send a PN if you do vacation here in the region in South of France this summer.
