Emergency access to Range Rover fuel flap

Still struggling with the fuel flap. Had a good look for the emergency release string through the little flap inside the boot but no luck. Took the parcel shelf out and removed the top plastic trim panel under the rear side window hoping to see some form of release but no. Loosened and pulled the side trim away and had a good look behind as best I could then it got dark again. Does this have to come out totally? Its got to be in their somewhere!!

It's quite well forward of the fuel hatch, easiest to take the trim off.

The early ones didnt have the release cable mine is a 97 and doesnt have one I just tied my own piece of string on it and it works a treat

I found mine easily. Shame it wasnt actually attached to the mechanism.........

Same here !

If your still struggling have you tried a gentle pull on the flap itself ,mine opens by hand too as well as with button

If it gets desperate you could just pull it open. You can buy the wee plastic closure clips on ebay for a couple of quid.
