I currently have the iPhone, in the itunes app store there is the complete range of os maps 1:50k. My question is does anyone use anything like this ?

just use memmaps or qctviewer.

QCTViewer was pulled after a threat made by Memory Map on the day that they announced their own iPhone app.

I use Viewranger on my Nokia.

There is a version available for the i(diot)Phone....
