electric window problem

:welcome2: my drivers window has developed a fault, i pressed the button to do up the window but when it reached the top it didnt want to stop and the teeth on the runner just jump off the motor cog and make a terible noise, is this a common fault ? or how can i fix it ...as someone is coming to buy it on sunday (typical). all replys will be greatly recieved thanks...

Unfortunately the teeth are probably worn out on the arm and your only honest option is to replace it. If it was within tolerance, the BeCM would have caught it and given you an error/fault.

Either pick up a cheap window arm unit off eBay or give the buyer a small discount on the purchase price. Easy enough to replace... I've done two driver's side windows arms on mine... 2nd time I had the frame welded to strengthen it.

Failed window regulator is well known problem, try Rimmer Bros for a replacement, they have OEM and lower cost pattern parts which work fine
