well this is getting annoying, car displayed engine disabled, enter code. i closed door locked it and entered the code watching for 3 flashes on the indicator each turn and still nothing,i called landrover double checked the eka code all was ok, what could the problem be as it must be reading my key turns in order for indicators to flash, anyone got any ideas here,

I've had to use my eka several times. Always months apart so I always forget the proceedure, I always follow the guide on rangerovers.net to the letter and its always worked 1st time for me. Strange thing is I never get my indicators flashing.

As has been said already and from my somewhat dodgy memory through trauling the forums I think a dodgy micro switch in the lock can effect the input.

In some cases you have to let the BECM know that its to expect the EKA. This you do by turning the key to "lock" 4 times and then entering the code. So if your code is 1234 you put the key in the lock, turn left 4 times, its now primed, turn right once, left twice, right thrice, left again four times and finally right once to unlock. All 4 door locks should pop up and interior courtesy lights should come on. Then insert key in ignition, turn to position two. There should be no messages and CHECK ENGINE light should come on. Car should now start.

are these of help
