Hi All,

I'll try not to make this super long but here goes.
I have a 2000 P38 2.5 Diesel.
List of work done is as follows -
New cylinder head
New glow plugs
New Diesel injector (with sensor)
New battery (twice)
New electronics in steering wheel

The thing will not start. Well, that's a lie, it started twice in the past year. First time was once I changed the battery over. Started it up, ran fine, ran it to the MOT centre and they pointed out then injector was leaking. Brought it home, changed the injector for a new one, tried to turn it back on and nothing.
I then bought a nancom evo to check for any codes, found one titled - Immobiliser Link Fault. Cleared that and started the car and it fired up first time.
I turned it off, tried turning it on again and nothing. Checked code and Immobiliser Link Fault shows again.
The car will turn over but just will not fire up. Almost sounds like it wants too at one point and then just goes back to turning over.

I have no error messages showing on the dashboard which is the annoying thing. No EKA lockout message etc.

I sent it into the shop for them to plug their diagnostics kit in and see what they get, turns out the BeCM is 100% locked out. They can't do anything with it. They did suggest sending it off to someone that will flash it but they've now told me the 'E' prong is essentially broken so they can't even plug their flashing kit in.
They're suggesting I buy another BeCM and we try and reprogram it to my vehicle.

Any ideas what I can do here? Seems like this car just doesn't want to run.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

First, if it has started, it's unlikely that the BECM is locked out but possible.
You have a Nanocom, go into the BECM and try turning off the Immobiliser and the EKA. If the BECM appears to allow you to do this, go back and check both have stayed off. Then disconnect the Nanocom and try to start the car.
Another possibility is the battery voltage, a new battery means nothing if it is not in a good state of charge. Low voltage throws all sorts of faults.
If the BECM really is locked out Callrover/ Rick the Pick is the place to go as said by Shippers.
