So there I was merrily driving along basking in the glow of 17mpg and a shiny new radiator doing its thing when I hear a pop and escape of air and osr suspension drops. Close enough to home to drive it and I can hear a hiss from the top of the wheelarch. Bag is less than 1 yr old and 1000 miles tops, what's the chance of a simple disconnected pipe?

Wonder if this was the reason for my random rear suspension operation of jacking itself to high height on the rear whilst driving. Fortunately hasn't set a fault but thanks to Datatek I'm all sorted for that anyway!

Any input appreciated

Bit of an update, had a quick look before work and it appears to be the pipe as it runs across the car can't really see where but I can hear it over near the middle of the car when I squeeze the airbag. Cheaper fix than an airbag, are the ebay repair kits ok?

Best run a new pipe, repairs=more potential leak points

+1 pipe is cheap. while you are doing it, check your exhaust for leaks. the usual cause of pipe failure is an exhaust blow melting the pipe.

You are psychic!!! I noticed a couple of small blows whilst I was under there. Already appearz to have a couple of joints in there are they normally one bit from end to end?

There in 3 sections 4 if youve a twin exit exhaust
cat
middle
back box
And second back box if its a twin exit
some after market cats on the v8s come in 2 pieces so you could even have 5 sections

Spot on guys. Had a better look today and the pipe that goes over to the osr had popped caused by the stainless exhaust having mild steel ends so the pipe had come apart at the joint to the rear box and had been happily blowing hot exhaust over it.

The air pipe however has 2 joints in it one in each wheelarch! Have temporarily used some kraken tape over the hole and all is happy. Not going to drive it like that I hasten to add! Ordered a couple of metres of pipe so it has just one joint for now. Thanks for all the help.
