drivers seat subframe

the subframe on my drivers seat in the 200 tdi has been broken at some time, and welded back together, due to the way it's been welded the top sliding rail is catching on the lower rail, so the wife can't get the seat far enough forward to reach the pedals, i've tried getting a dremel type tool in there to remove the excess metal but it's not having any effect, has any body got a spare seat subframe, or can you tell me where i can get one, there are no disco's in the local breakers yards, thanks

Can you get an angle-grinder in there to remove some of the weld??

me too - i need a noo drivers seat frame in good nick, as mine is corroded to buggery .

Sounds like the ideal way of stoppin er drivin it to me!

My wifey drove ours for the first time a couple of weeks ago (she was terrified cos it's a lefty!) Found she couldn't reach the clutch easilly, had to really stretch and got cramp in leg! We bought a clutch pedal extender, gives an extra coupla inches and she's always said she wanted an extra coupla inches, I just didn't know that's what she meant!
I find it more comfy for meself too although I'm not a short arse!

not enough room for a grinder, i struggled to get the dremel in and see what i was doing, you need to be a contortionist
