I'm just wondering whether to get some Rangie Classic Handles & fit them onto my Disco after some prat stole the keys for the jeep which i have mentioned in a previous thread.

why do you need to get new handles for the discovery if someone's messed with your jeep??? and why do you have a jeep as well as the disco.. surely you never use the burger with the steak outside??

I call the Disco a Jeep as i'm sure others do the same.
I have noticed nobody else has commented on this either !
Whether i have a Disco or a Jeep has nothing to do with you !
Infact i have a Disco & a Frontera which incidently i also call it a jeep !!

The reason i HAVE to change the Disco/jeep door handles is because the key has been stolen & if this person comes back & actually steals the disco/jeep my insurance becomes invalid as i never changed the locks.

That is the reason i ask whether Rangie Classic door handles would fit a Disco.

why dont yu call the disco a Ford and the frontera a Mitsubushi, then you could confuse everyone, ya stupid pillock. A Jeep is a make!

Or put another way - if yu dont conform to LZ etiquette then yu wont get much help.

All the door interals are the same between Mk1 Discoverys and 4dr RRC. I think the only difference is the interior trim/door card and external door skin.

'Facelift' Disco door mirrors are different. Moutings are different too.

Grow up why don't you !

I came on here asking for advice obviously a wrong decision to do.

If you happen to live in Scotland you'd know most people call any 4x4s a jeep which incidently neither of you do !
I'll go & ask advice where people are willing to give & not slag others off.

As for calling somebody a 'stupid pillock' just goes to show your mentality.

i agree MHM, am just off to hoover up with the dyson

Yeah but, no but, yeah but that as ok - coz this aint a vacuum cleaner forum, so yu is allowed teknical inaccuries on cleaning appliances, Sean. Plus we know yu dont really know one end of vacuum from the other:D

other pricks yep.. jeeps are a brand name for a rubbish american car .. you however own a landrover discovery and a tall vauxhall cavelier...

you need to change the locks not the door handles.. you may find it easier to change the whole handle including the barrel perhaps.. but you'd probably be better off claiming on your insurance for the theft of the key and getting the whole job done properly..

but as you came in here being a prick I aint gonna tell you that...

You really do talk childish.

I'm not getting involved with children like you.

i can see by the fact that you have posted twice in this thread but said absolutely nothing that you are looking for attention.. so here is your attention ration for the day now **** off...

I drive a Ryperd (Africaans for horse) cunningly disguised as a TD5 Discovery. I call her Ryperd all the time but it does feel cold sometimes with the saddle on the roof!!

If I remember correctly, we used a lot of parts from the Rover parts bin during the development of disco 1. The door exterior handles were off the Marina (remember that bag of rubbish), the tail lights were off the Maestro van and the headlights off a sherpa van plus a load of other parts scavenged to keep the costs down. It was only when we started with Disco II and we had some more money that more dedicated L/R parts were designed.
