Hi
I've bought the full height dog guard thingamajig, but was wondering if its possible to get a divider too, i.e. to keep the hound on one side of the boot and the shopping on the other?
There doesnt seem to be one in the Range Rover accessories brochure. Its for a Range Rover 59 reg

not sure they did them. but i know there's companies that make bespoke dog cages for cars that could probably make something for you.

Hi Could you possibly give me the details of some of these companies? Everyone I try say I need to have their dog guard in order for the divider to fit.......hmmmm I dont really want to but another dog guard, as I've just bought one from Ranger Rover at a ridiculous price!

Tell them they are being ridiculous and if they can't design/build a divider to suit the Range Rover OEM unit, what the hell are they doing in business...

If they want your business/cash, they'll soon build a bespoke unit for you!! Lazy Bastids:(

Put him in the back seat. The dog gaurd will stop him getting to your shopping in the back.

+1
Got to say it's where mine travelled. Would never have put her in the boot but I thought the OP might have a reason for using the boot, such as kids or some such. Although she could put kids in the boot and dog on back seat :D

dont do the shopping, let the wife go or get it delivered.. 2 that does the job failing that, there is a cage for the disco 1 and 2 that does the job perfectly

sod dog claws on my leather seats.

i don't even let mine in the boot ! lol

I've let my dog sit on the back seat of each car I've had, over the last 15yrs, all of which had leather seats. Didn't have much choice when I had saloons. Never had a scratch mark yet. Put a fleece on the seat, leather is protected, dog is safe and I'm happy.

Unfortunately, I am the wife!!! :) So the shopping is my job

I have too many dogs for the back seat! Plus two of mine are big lanky greyhounds and are in their twilight years so are too unsteady on their feet for the back seat, (they just end up falling in the foot well and they hate those dog hammock things too) They've always travelled in the boot on a big fluffy bed where they can enjoy a good snooze! :D

If they'd settle on the back seats without falling all over, I'd be very happy as I'd be able to put the heated seats on for them too which they would love!

One of my dogs used to travel in the passenger seat of my van, with a seat belt on. I'd swear he leaned into the corners.

My little deaf and blind whippet always rides 'shot gun' with her seatbelt on but thats because she's a very nervous passenger due to her disabilities and needs to be near someone when in the car!

What about a caravan?

There are always solutions and the solution to this is really simple, buy two large cushion style dog beds and put them in the gap! Or you could put the shopping in the back seat? Why do people make things so complicated?

p.s Why didn't you think of these things before getting the veh? Before I bought mine I took the dog with me and checked out if the ramp fitted, if the dog was comfortable, how easy it was to get her in and out, etc, etc, etc. Also if you have too many dogs for the back seat (3+?) surely that is too many to give only half the boot space to?

I did all the checks to make sure my dogs could get in, out etc. before buying the car. I would never have all the dogs in the boot and shopping at the same time. If I needed to half the boot then there would only be either one of my large dogs or two of my small ones in there. I also do long distance transportation for rescue centres sometimes which require that the hounds are kept in the boot of the car for h&s reasons and sometimes the dogs need to be kept separate by a divider as they may not have been socialised together. I dont particularly want to go down the bespoke cage route as this would limit the space slightly for when my own 4 dogs are in together.

I've never had a problem buying a divider for any other car I've owned thats had a dealer fit dog guard and stupidly presumed that it would be simple to get one for a Range Rover. They do them for the sport, the ugly and unpractical evoque etc so why not for a Range Rover?!?!? Theres many sites that sell them but when you add it to 'your basket' suddenly they declare its only suitable for the sport?!?!

Looks like you forgot to check one of the 'etcs ' Oh well looks like caravan it is. Unless you buy a van and convert it so you can get your 4 dogs, your rescue dogs AND your shopping in
