after replacing the track rod bar and front steering damper bar for heavy duty items i have noticed that the steering seemed to stick sometimes

after having a look the track rod bar is slightly rubbing on the bracket that is bolted to the diff.

as the bars are double the thickness of the original items do i need this bracket or can i do away with it or does it serve a purpose?

lots of peeps run without em, cos some diffs don't have the mounting holes (e.g. if an ex rear diff has been fitted at the front).

Its supposed to stop you bending the trackrod upwards when you are sitting on it or likewise if you land on your front wheels heavily. Not used especially when you uprate your trackrod. Saying that I have tubed my trackrod with steam barrel plug welded it in place and then welded a length of angle along it still managed to bend it at a comp but these things happen. It did take alot of stick before it bent tho
