Am looking at removing the green box.

Immobilizer, centrol locking.

have a 1997 disco and doesn't seem to have a spider bit behind the dash.

I need to remove the whole system, thinking can I find the main power feed into the box and cut it out.

I know will need to rewire some bits,, starter, stop solenoid, glow plugs.

has anybody found out which are the power feeds in to this box?

Finding out isn’t difficult the info is in the owners handbook and on the rear of the fuse box lid.
Anyway fuse number 5 10amp in the lower auxiliary fuse strip at the base on the main board is the supply for the security system ecu.
You can add the loss of your central locking to your list if you remove the security ecu, although it has no bearing on the operation of the glow plug function.

The “spider” immobiliser isn’t behind the radio/head, but in a more secure position lower down behind the heater dial controls although you may be able to see or feel for it with the head unit removed.
The 1997 300 Tdi with an auto gearbox doesn’t have a spider fitted.

If it is with EDC you have to disable the immobiliser with dedicated tester bfore you do anything else otherwise the ECU goes to immobilised mode and the injection pump will not work this way no matter if you wire up the starter and other bits

Not worried about central locking as its used off road but needs to stay road legal.

have had center dash out and could find spider bit... have been told some of the later ones didn't have the spider ous is feb 1997

We have a manual so didn't think had a EDC, also have Egr delete , Have the 3 wires at back of Fuel pump but understood still only 1 wire goes to the stop which I can re-wire,

the 3 wires to rear of pump is the security for the pump, the single wire pumps use a spider to cut the feed your 3 wire needs a signal to work and not a spider, but you can remove it by breaking the cover and security screws and just using a single ignition feed to solenoid
