Disco 2 Discovery TD5 M&S lights flashing (is it just the xyz switch)

Hello all, The M+S lights are flashing every now and then. This happened about 5000 miles (2 years ago) so replaced the XYZ switch. But its started coming on again. Sometimes its just after its started, but recently its been on the motorway when using kickdown or changing down a gear when going up hill.
I've also noticed this morning, when the lights started flashing straight after starting it makes a really big clunk when engaging reverse gear. Turning off and on again clears it for a while.

What my main question is, is if there is anything else which can cause the M+S lights to flash that I should check, I was wondering as the switch is nearly new it might not be calibrated/set up properly.

Need to get a fault code. Can be the loom, throttle pedal or xyz function or setup.

Make sure you have a fully charged battery and no corroded battery terminal connections.
Make sure the battery connections are tight on the posts.

I'm getting a
position switch monitoring error.
A front left sensor electrical failure

Engine speed input signal intermittent or missing

Short to Grd in pretensioner circuit

Was some generic tool used as you've got all those mixed errors from different systems? If yes you can't rely on them, you need dedicated tool to scan the transmission ECU only

I was plagued with flashing m+s so did my xy switch. Didn’t fix my issue so I bought the Hawkeye. Overboost caused my issue and turned out to be sticky wastegate
