Hello there all, really random one here and any help would be greatly appreciated. The other week driving the cable tie holding the selector cable (where the c clip should be ) snapped. I turned off the car, got under it and re positioned the cable and put a new cable tie round it. Got back in the car, ran through the gears and all seemed perfect. Went to start the car and m s lights flashing. And now D is flashing on dash and can’t register 1,2 or 3. I’ve tried adjusting the cable and switch and for the life of me can’t get the sweet spot. Worried tho even if I did the car won’t start. In P and N it cranks over, d as you’d want doesn’t let it turn over. No engine management light, just m s lights. Battery good, 12.7 and it was charging at 14.4 running. It seems like something is cutting off the fuel. Any ideas ? Many thanks ,

Fellow landy lover, mostly

Update got xyz switch reading the gears right, still won’t start tho. Cranks over however. Crank position sensor?

Maybe, should be able to read that with a code reader I would have thought.
Saying that it may well be the starter motor affecting the crank sensor signal, it was in my case.
Code reader been on this arvo and threw up a cps in the system. Is there anything I should check on the starter motor? Many thanks

Check the Fuel Pressure Regulator isn't leaking onto the CPS and/or starter - I had this on my old D2.

If it's not then consider rebuilding/replacing the starter, and check the CPS wiring.

Good idea, as it happens I did recently see I’ve got a leak on the fuel pressure regulator, it’s getting done in a week or so. I’ll have a good look around and see. Thanks for the help 👍👍
