Lil update, sat i striped the wings and started patching the rust holes, most are done now, will get pics this weekend. Also i modified the derv tank feed and return, both were compressions joints, drilled them out and solderd in 3 inch sections on 8mm copper pipe to match the original steel 8mm pipes on the disco.

Got my pipes to run the rad to the back, also got a lenght of tube bent up for my hoop... but in my haste i got a measurement wrong so it will need a bit of modification, next week the cage will start to go together!

Got my main hoop done but forgot to take a pic, went on a scavenge at my local metal scrap yard and found the perfect bit of stainless tube for my raised exhaust. Also got a bit of 10mm bar and bent it into a super recovery point for the rear.

Is your motor lhd?? Hehe

Diagonal is to protect the driver not too important as the cage is not up to spec to be a rollcage but as its not important to you that the design is not meeting any specs your getting there.

What are you doing with the fuel tank?

Hi disco mark
I sent you a pm like i say if your not fussed then no problem.

The effort to make it tomspec is worth while IMO but only as it opens more options for competing or having fun.

Double Check your diagonal I think it will if rolled over try and parallelagram the cage opening it up and losing its strength

Then there is he old CDs vs red band and after seeing CDs ones bend and guys told to go home I'm afraid I'm sticking to red band and it's weight penalty over durability
