ensure box is truly central and wind the allen screw in clockwise whilst rocking the lower steering column by hand feeling for the play been removed

thanks not so many around here probably all gone there, i shant be taking it down the beach we have an allis chalmers for that, its not doing bad but we wash it well after

If there is excessive lash in the column you can tighten the adjuster a bit(clockwise) but be aware that it's very sensitive, even a quarter of turn can make a difference provided there's no excessive wear in the box
