iyam postin this on behalf of Tweets, as he carnt get on here at the mo.....

Disco just had a new hub courtesy of the AA, guy road tested after it was done and said it was fine, I take it out the car park and the HDC, ABS & TC lights come on. Drove back in and they say it's nothing to do with them but tried to read the diagnostics and their comp couldn't communicate with the car so they have told me to go elsewhere to get the codes read (which I'll have to pay for) to find out whats wrong.

New ABS sensor was on the hub (gen part). They couldn't reset it as their diagnostics equipment wouldn't communicate with the car.

Now i know not alot about Disco2 ABS systems - but i reckon its summat to do with the noo sensor or the resetting of the ABS controller? An I sed it aint down to Tweets to fix it - its down to the garidge wot dun the job - it aint his fault their diags dont talk to the car.

So you reckon Tweets should go back Wednesday, and then let them take it to somewhere where it can be read and let them pay for the diagnostics?

wotch do yu lot think - any ideas?

It needs to go on Testbook or similar to clear the codes, none of the multimake scanners are much good on LR stuff, only for powertrain ecu's.

so - its down to that garage - not for Tweets to pay?

coz my understanding is they have taken on the job with insufficient equipment - yes?

Yep it's the garage's problem NOT tweets. I took a vehicle into renault a couple of weeks ago and their diagnostic wouldn't communicate with the vehicle that I had taken in. It turned out that it was their computer that had crashed. I would get tweets to ring the AA and ask em what they intend to do about it.

Latest noos - Tweets is sitting 10 mins from Aberdeen city centre waiting fur the AA. Oil ****ing out of the axle where they "fixed" the noo hub. So now he is well fooked.

I think the 3 amigos is the least of his problems at the mo.

UPDATE

AA paid for the Main Stealer to clear the fault codes :)

As for me "new" hub the other night, turned out it was a duff one and the bearing collapsed after less than 4miles.....(fooking genuine part from the main stealer too)

This was me new hub, after less than 4 miles of driving....
