Disco 1 / Range Rover Cross over

From looking through lists of parts I want for the Disco, I've noticed there are alot that are listed for both Disco 1's and RRC's. How extensive is this similarity?

The steering guards seem to cross over, but how about other things like tree/rock sliders?

And what other such similarities exist for my 3dr V8?

The D1 was built on the RRC chassis / base . There are extensive similarities .

all the running gear,chassis,gearbox etc except abs system is specific to rr and rr often vented brakes while most discos were solid ,sills side steps any under protection will all swap over ,complete bodies can easily be swapped over something we used to do a good few of 10 or more years ago

So now I'm gonna sound really stoopid!

Has my 95 v8 Disco got ABS?

And if they cross over, does that mean I can use the RR vented discs on mine?

Begining of a long learning curve...I can tell you what crosses over in the majority of the VW marque...gotta work out the same on the Landy family now!

ABS maybe maybe not, some models it was an option. and yes with the RR discs, they are also in the disco parts book, some discos were fitted with them somewhere in the world..

rr used a different abs system altogether so wouldnt matter if yours had or not if you ask specifics ican tell you ,buty is easy to fit vented discs but you need vented calipers to ,certain parts like caliper securing bolts will be subject to rr an disco been of silimar age ie both upto ka or after etc

Now been informed I can use the sus from a 90 on my disco one, bar the steering damper...Anything else off the Fender that I could use?

You can use a 90 steering damper on a Discovery got on mine, use a relocation kit
Wizard makes them puts the damper inside the steering guard.
