Still not managed to get my Disco to start. It's a 2.0 MPI and has no spark and no fuel being delivered.

I had suspected it was an immobiliser problem but beginning suspect the ECU or a relay.

Any tipson how to test the ECU?

Thanks

Woo hoo!! Got it running!!

Had to power up Pin 28 on the ECU to get a spark and directly power the fuel pump from the battery and it burst into life!!

The ECU is getting power but it's not distributing any so looks like this is the culprit!! Just need to find one now!

Can they be repaired normally?

So, looking for a replacement ECU for my disco and there appears to be a lot of talk about having to program it? Is this necessary?

This whole issue started when the battery went flat - could it have wiped the software on the EEPROM, assuming it has one.

Maybe the ECU itself is still OK?

Thanks

Sounds like it just needs a security relearn,I have to admit I have never had an MPI Disco connected to my Testbook, but all other LR products of that and later ages need a security link between engine and security ecu's.Flat batteries and bad connections are a good way to lose the link.;)

Any idea how I go about this? Anyone near Preston who could do it?

Thanks

Sorry, bit far from me - not sure if any of the Hawkeye/Nanocom stuff will do the relearn.Maybe asking for an Indy close to you is a good idea ?

Will have to do some ringing around on Monday.

I assume the Land Rover dealer would be the best place to start.
