Diff trouble

Hi I blew my diff this weekend and a good friend of mine has offered me a TD5 diff will this diff fit my 300tdi defender? Or will I have to fit a TD5 diff to the front too as he as given me front and rear? Any help would be great fully appreciated .

same ratio so no problems just check length of securing studs

Cheers also how easy is it to fit a truetrac?

quite easy just a matter of swapping diff carrier its worth checking crown wheel run out after fitting crown wheel before setting backlash with a dti ,then set backlash and bearing preload by adjusting nut on crown wheel side to remove all backlash then adjusting other till a little backlash put back
