Yesterday I thought the op was taking the psis.
Today I kind of feel the op just is not listening to some very good advice, and just keeps asking the same question in slightly different ways.

Yesterday the op was not taking the psis, today the op is Listening but as he is not really mechanically minded and has said that Numerous times on here, and Is Very grateful for the help and advice from some great people on this Forum.
So he will keep on asking the questions and hopefully the people that it does not Bother them that much they have to write a comment about it will keep on helping him.

Just getting Vids ready to Post:)

I would say bother is to strong a word, amazed might be nearer the truth!

Not sure would it make a difference ?
Here are Vids Now before the Pump was took off and given to Diesel Guy this engine ran Sweet as a Nut as they say. But now this.

As said timing timing and er timing, 15 quid will fix it.

That second vid that shows the pump, the throttle is very loose, I would say your running at very low revs, what happens if you turned the throttle a little bit ?

What is the difference between vid 1 and 2?

Cheers

 Come on then give me some info from Vids

I did above its the timing, either your pins arent accurate enough hence my 15 quid comment, or the diesel guy has not got the pump hub on in the right place.
The clue is the smoke, a tdi is a dirty engine but should start easily with a cough and some black snot, then run pretty clean (to the naked eye anyway) you have grey smoke so timing retarded, ie its injecting later than it should be and not burning cleanly, and also makes starting difficult.

Some vids on youttube (cant remember guys name land trailer?) which explain it better than I cna in words.

No difference just added the other so yous could see the Smoking from exhaust.
Will adjust throttle tomorrow and give it a try.

It Was Starting and running perfectly, no smoke exept the cough at first before pump went to Diesel Guy and it has been timed up same way as it was then. It can only be out by a few mil or 1 tooth as they say, Just cant get me head around how so very little could cause it to run this Bad. Need to ring him tomorrow to see what he thinks of it.
Will search for that Vid you mentioned.

if you have it timed ie crank aand cam marks align pump pin fits, matey has cocked up the pump timing when refitting pump pulley

That's all I can think of to. Rang him and he says there might have been some dirt got in when we took it off but we made sure that was done right,. Said he has not got facilities tobench test it, but he will have another look at it.

Ask him to check the stroke on the injection plunger is at 1.54mm using a Dial indicator and that the timing pin fits ok at that.

What sort of diesel pump specialist is he that he cannnot bench test it?

Cheers
