There was that Chavtastic green ebay one a while back which supposedly had a T16 in it, only 2wd though. I'd like to keep the 4wd ;). The 1.8T would be an easy bolt on, so that's where my money would be :). All I want is a bit more torque to get up steep inclines offroad and make general driving more relaxed. The stock 1.8 did very well offroad when we were at Sibbertoft but can't hurt to get it even better ;).

Yes, but it would be easier just to buy a V6 freelander ! I'm keen on working with more or less what I have, getting the most out of it and such.

DD, if you look at that piccy I can already see we'd have to find a new home for the EWP as I think the turbo will get in the way. But there isn't much more to it than the standard 1.8 is there? There's so much room under than bonnet that it wouldn't be any trouble to fit at all I reckon just hav to make sure the EWP is clear of anything to knock against or get cooked next to!! Sigh, here we go again.

Hmmm, so, you have your 1.8T, you've overhauled it and restored it. It has the MLS gasket and metal dowels, then you stick the EWP on it and with all the extra heat it generates the EWP actually has enough heat to deal with and find stability.

Sounds like a winner to me!

And me, wonder what a remap does for the torque?

Did they use the auto on the 75?

DD

Not totally sure but I think you had a choice of auto or manual on most 75's. Why, you thinking of converting to auto while you're at it :D? Classy!

Who knows about remaps then? It would be the first thing I'd do. In theory, the EWP should be able to handle any extra heat generated, in fact the more the better - it's designed to cool everything up to 3ltr injuns so I think we'll be fine!
