Hi everyone
Just had a very confusing issue crop up and was wondering if anyone could shed some light. Its a disco 2 landmark....

Car would not start ....all lights were on as such...but no one home.
Had a new starter motor fitted last week...battery is in great shape...about two years old and yet nothing...turn the key..no clicks of other noises just silence...spoke to my local landy mechanic...stumped him...call RAC...checked car over..nothing to note....he started just checking fuses...found 4th fuse in engine bay box blown...20amp...supposed to be for headlamp washers...replaced it and bobs yer uncle....life....

simple question...any ideas why a random fuse that seems to have no link to the ignition process ...does?

in replacing fuse 4 could have disturbed relay R2 starter clearing poss faulty or lose connection on relay base worth looking at

in fact we had switched relays 2 and 3 over as I remembered reading on this forum to do that when the starter motor started playing up....hence why wde renewed it last week.

However it made no difference ...it was replacing the blown fuse that brought things back to life today.

1 would still check relay connections it strange that the power wash fuse blew which is one of the two relays you switched over, would also check connection to engine fuse box as in previous thread the connections were
corroded and two separated on inspection in that thread it was the plug on the rear of the engine fuse box feeding the passenger fuse box , also did you switch back the starter and power wash relays 2 & 3

thanks...funnily enough its just happened again this morning...started ok first thing...stopped after school drop off and again it happened....fuse not blown this time...will check all connections...

looks like multi meter out but check relay first you may have replace it but check it all the same could be bad contacts causing intermittent problem ,again check for corrosion on connectors usually where the enter the connector
