Hi all. Going to so the clutch on my 200 this weekend. Well it's actually the release bearing that's rattling away when de-press clutch pedal but while its out might aswel replace the lot. Thing is I have picked a britpart clutch up, I thought this was good but I've been told otherwise. Anybody fitted a britpart clutch and had good or bad experiences?? Any comments appreciated, Cheers in advance....

Put an HD clutch fork on too, buy one for cheapness or if you weld, weld a small plate across the back of yours. You can sometimes punch a hole in it and it's really annoying to do all the work when such a cheap part breaks.

Yeah Britpart is fine, it's who the manufacturer is that matters.

Is it either an AP driveline or Borg&Beck? AP have bought out B&B so they're one and the same.

Have had a Britpart supplied AP B&B in mine for a few years now and it's lasting very well, have had the box/engine out twice since and have seen no need to replace it!

Pheeeeeeeeeew. Thanks for that. Put my mind at rest. I have picked a heavy duty clutch fork up but I do weld so I might just weld a bar on anyway for extra precaution. Just a small bar along the back of it??

I put in a Britpart clutch kit in one of our TDi 300's about 3-4yrs ago and had no problems with it at all. I also included an HD clutch lever, plus all the little bits like slipper pads, the plastic pin and cup etc.

In fact after the work was done, the clutch was a light as a feather by comparison to before. Made it a delight to drive.

Bronze bush in fly wheel, any ideas how to get it out without taking flywheel off? Gear box is just pulled back giving approximately 10" space so not much room.

Fair play that's one way of doing it, 24mm tap you mean? Dies are the ones for making thread onto metal rod.

Also, the grease and socket trick works if you don't want to destroy the bronze bush :)

Mr noisy, having trouble bleeding clutch. Fluids coming through, no air in system yet no pressure at all. Was working fine before. Master an slave knackered u rekon? Can't understand as was working fine before started to replace clutch.
