Hi "brothers in the whole Landrover", the engines are mystrerious for me.......after ignition i hear a randy din for about 5 secs...... randyer than the normal one untill the oil "climbs" to the head...............i hope is not the preamble of the oil pump bolt unscrewing itself............if it is i better not use the car untill i get the sump gasket and look at it :wtf:.............3 years ago i've "Loctited" it myself.

Any oppinions will be greatly appreciated.......regards Fery.:yawn:

Hi fery, re your engine engine noise, have you:

1. Checked the engine oil level?

2. When was the last time you changed the engine oil? Filters?

3. What engine oil do you use? - 5w-30; 10w-40; 15w-40;

If you did a through job of cleaning and then lock-titeing the bolt it should be ok. If in any doubts change the oil.

Cheers
Dave

Hi Dave, it has 5000km with this oil and filter (Castrol 5W50).......level is good.....dropped 1cm since ive filled it.......that noise appears just if the car stays more than 6-8 hours........185.000 km on board

Hi Fery, if it is likely to remain hot in your part of the world for the next 3-4months I would be changing the engine oil and filters and I would put in 10w-40 (5-50 is a VERY wide range oil) semi synth.

What are the high and low ambient temperatures with you currently?

Dave
