right been trying to enjoy driving it but finding it hard still a few really annoying issues!!
first the suspension again every time i get out car all your hear coming from compressor area is click click click click as it lowers its self!! and seems to sit really low until started again is this normal sometimes you hear it letting air out in a burst not continuos sshhht then stops!!??

also this constant loud whirring coming from behind the small square vent under the clock on the dash really annoying everyone gets in and says whats that!!
any ideas?????????????????????????????????

The click, click, click, is made by the solenoids on the air suspension trying to level the vehicle, if it isnt dropping to the bump stops and taking ages to pump up, then I wouldnt be worried about that, are you parking on a level surface?
The whirring noise you can hear is the fan on the internal temp sensor, behind the grill is a sensor with a fan attached, it probably just needs a good clean out as it more than likely covered in fluff/dust.

the roads not really that level to be honest and so if i go to a garage and blow an air line through the vent a couple of times and try that!! and if that dont stop the whirring is there anything else i can do as its so annoying!!!
thanks for the reply!

The grill can be unclipped for better access although it can be a pain to do, far side of the clock is where the lug is that holds that strip in place, you may be able to release it without removing the upper panel complete. If you have a torch, shine it through the grill to see there is anything obvious in there, as for using an air line, hadnt thought of that but but dont see why. My own RR is park on a slight incline and clicks when I get out, it also does it if I lean on one corner of the bonnet. Sometimes its a though everything is clicking at once and you wonder if it will ever stop. Also, the sudden whoosh you mentioned earlier is the exhaust from the EAS when it gets to full pressure.

My RRs EAS has made odd noises when parked ever since I've owned it (5 years) - I know the system is 100% and in excellent nick and its very carefully maintained, I just ignore the suspension noises now. Our driveway is very uneven, which affects it I'm sure. Just a RR quirk, I think.

it does seem to be sitting lower at the drivers side front and rear than the other so turned the car round the other way as slight hill but its still the same one side a little lower i would say!

Park it on level ground like a supermarket car park and measure from the wheel centres to the rim of the wheel arch, the figures should be the same side to side within a couple of millimetres plus or minus. The clicking is normal if the car is parked on uneven or sloping ground I think, certainly mine does the same. Parked on flat level ground the clicking stops very quickly and the car sinks very little if at all.:D

Mine clicks and lowers itself as well, but it goes right back up again as soon as i start the car. no worries :)

yeah this seems to be the same but one side doesint seem to go up as far as the other its the whole drivers side im getting worried

right just removed that panel underneath the clock and yes a load of fluff in there looked a bit like belly button stuff but never mind that seems to have stopped the whirring noise glad for that i was starting to worry bout that as well!!

ok next noise is when i press the air con button really loud noise from to middle vents in console even louder so i keep that off so it has the orange light well thats when it stops anyway take it thats knacked then?

hi, the clicking noises on my p38 sound exactly the same as yours and sometimes even a little bump will set the selonids off even though its been sitting for a while.
the only thing id worry about is that if she is sitting slant and takes a while to pump up.ive just had a new airbag fitted and wow what a difference,so my leak was obviously a gradual slow leak and over 1 year it was almost a normal thing untill the repairs, but then its a wow,her height is there in a few seconds instead off the waiting for her to rise up.
as for the noise behind the dash i dont know,
cheers

cheers yeah i think there some kind of leak as if its left for a couple of days the same side is down and took bout 5-10 mins to lift las time but its fine if your using it every day!!

really want to know what this noise is from front vents though!

what sort of noise? if it still cools i reckon the ac part is working. might be the motors that move the flaps to select where to direct the airflow. maybe they're snagged? try going through the row of buttons at the bottom of the ac panel?

Really glad to hear your up and running mine sometimes seems to have a lean on it but soon levels up and also some weird noises from eas relax and enjoy hope you dont desert us now your an expert p38 repair man

right these front two vents no matter what air directional buttons i press still make this buzing from there?

see you've started another thread on the vents issue so shifting over there. though nothing to add as you seem to have identified it as the thermo-sensor fan...
