L322 Checking vanos for previous repair

After reading the besian vanos repair. I'm peering into the vanos the outer teflon ring is green. Is that factory original hasn't been updated?

It says the vanos needs to be pressed so metal pinches up against the plastic and does not rotate. One can fit the tip of the engineer pick the other can slide paper in. Both do rotate.

Is it safe to assume these need replacing?

Also the instructions says to mark vanos before separating because it was factory balanced... one fell out on the table how important is this balancing? Oops

So I'm going to buy the besian kit and do it.

But can anyone help me out with advice on losing the factory balance.

From my description you think my vanos is standard with original seals?

I think you'll find it's 'ociffer'......

So you haven't rebuilt an M62(tu) therefore able to advise?

From what I remember Kg74 is very knowledgeable on the M62 engine.
